Pal Week

Want to come to a week where all the campers are closer in age and the program is kicked down a notch to include 3rd graders?   It’s a superb week with chapel times, games from the past, and skill development different from other weeks.  Some campers register for this week as second week of summer camp.  Now how can a kid be so lucky?  But hey, you’re only a kid once!!  First-time and return campers will absorb Bible lessons, counselor love, funny skits, beach activities, campfire s’mores, and the swamp walk; and they will be talking about it all year!!

Each camper will take home a theme T-shirt, DVD video of your week, beautiful cabin picture, and a big desire to come back next year.

Overview of the Team Timothy Program

Team Timothy is a program for high school students designed to challenge them spiritually through the roles of service and leadership. Camp Michawana believes that building relationships with others, sharing the Gospel, and seeing lives transformed is in itself transformational and an important step in the process of Christian growth and maturity. The Team Timothy program is a two-week experience focused on a Biblical model of servant leadership from Paul’s letters to Timothy. TTers will help to facilitate ministry for the entire camp through service in the kitchen, dining hall, and maintenance areas of camp. In these two-to-three weeks, TTers will also participate in hands-on ministry alongside counselors with Pal and Pioneer campers, learning leadership and relationship-building  skills.

This two-week session will focus on:

   ·      Personal Devotional Time·         Group Bible Study (1st and 2nd Timothy)·         Team Building Activities

·         Participation in Chapel and other camp activities·         Relationship Building

·         Kitchen and Dining Hall Service·         Maintenance Service Projects

·         Hands-on Ministry with Younger Campers·         Team Games and Outdoor Adventures

(Tubing, Ice Blocking, Slip and Slide, Tug-o-War, Mission Impossible, Canoeing, Campfires, etc.)

Team Timothy Guidelines and Expectations:

Team Timothy's purpose is to serve Christ through serving others, and we strive to exemplify our mission in all we do. Our mission verse for Team Timothy is 1Timothy 4:12:

“Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.”

While participating in the Team Timothy Program, you will be expected to follow these guidelines and expectations. We strive to:

        · Be a Christ-like servant to our campers, staff, and guests at all times.

·         Abide by the policies, standards and regulations of Camp Michawana.

·         Encourage and uplift each other with our words at all times (see Eph. 4:29).

·         Show respect to each other and to those in authority.

·         Consider the interests and reputation of others above our own (Phil 2:3-11).

·         Willfully serve in our areas of responsibility (Dining Hall, Kitchen, Dish Pit, Grounds, Campus, and Cabins) to the best of our ability.

·         Participate in all group activities with Christ-like attitudes.

·         Represent Christ in all of our relationships (camper, staff, etc.).

·         Follow the directions of leadership and full-time staff.

·         Respect and follow our schedule, arriving at the correct time and working efficiently.

See You at Camp!!
